Neurosciences Online
Cogito ergo sum!
Neuroscience is the study of the nervous system. Even though it may seem simple, this is a large field, which includes several branches of study such as: structure, physiology, development, biochemistry and pathology, among others. The study of the brain, how we perceive things and interact, has been part of human kind since the first civilizations.
Since from the first annotation reported in Sumerian records ca. 4000 B.C., about “Euphoriant effect of poppy plant”, the investigation on how the brain works became compelling. This field of study, that has been then called “Neuroscience”, fascinated humanity at any age of its civilization. Probably because any human being always sensed that having and using our brain is what makes everyone of us unique; we could not do anything or be anything without it.
Knowledge is the only thing that the brain really needs to satisfy its true goals; like in a vicious circle, knowledge itself comes from brain activity!
Human brain improved its skills and produced sophisticated instruments of investigation, in order to explore first the outside world, and then even what is inside itself. Finally, in the last century, we have witnessed the rapid exponential expansion of human knowledge. The amount of notion available to the neuroscientist of today is even overwhelming, sometimes resulting in confusion more than in learning.
Our goals are:
To gather an outstanding and diverse group of scientists interested in cutting edge discoveries in Neuroscience.
To develop a discussion platform where expertise is shared in order to: identify, analyze and eventually help solving issues in Neuroscience, involving structure, function, development, genetics, biochemistry, physiology, pharmacology, and pathology of the nervous system.
Therefore we encourage the participation of scientists from public or private institutions as well as from academy and industry, all at the forefront of research.
